Equilibrium v.1.04cg α1 !Unregistered!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
QUICK NOTES:
* Only Use a Product with the Genuine HAMBONE BONE graphic up front. If
the bone image has been changed to something else, this file has been
Tampered With! <Take two bones after meals, and one before bed?>
* The game, EQUILIBRIUM, was completely conjured by me. And, i've spent quite
a while making it a decent pastime by my reckoning. SO>>> If you feel it'd
be a programming challenge to "re-make" equilibrium under a different name
(tetris = nyet and all that) then please quit feeling that way quickly.
Come up with ur own game idea, that's a whole lot better... I know this,
for i've made my own tetris and it paled in comparison to the fun of making
a completely new game... Thanks!
* Equilibrium has some features that aren't fully covered in the helpfiles,
that are in fact not there at all. You'll have to find them out. How?
I suggest registering, but pounding keys might help.
* This programme was written on a 386sx/16. it's extremely slow on this,
which stands to reason since the computer is not only not slow, but not
very powerful nor is the video output anything to be envied. I've heard
from others that on faster computers with better video output it's nice,
but for right now all i've seen is slow flickering. I'll try to implement
some code to make it a bit quicker and all, will do that soon if the demand
is there.
* Equilibrium needs to know where its level data files are. The default
directory is in fact c:\equil\, but with the configuration menu at the
start of the programme you can change this.
* Equilibrium also needs a graphics driver, egavga.bgi. This is Borland's
programme of course but i've bought TP7 so i'm safe. all rights reserved
for borland and all that groovy stuff. Make sure that the included .bgi
is in the same directory as the .exe file.
* Ensure that you read ALL INSTRUCTIONS... the game is apparently pretty
unusual, and by that virtue not intuitive to understand. I'll make a
smaller and more simple instructions file, it will still be called EQUIL.DOC
If you need a direct explanation, write me and include your phone number.
* !REGISTER! access REGISTER.DOC for more information! **Only $5!**
IN LATER VERSIONS:
* Re-sizable colour-grids <Whew, that'd be tough! Good thing I've prepared
the code for that, eh?>
* Level-specific Maximum Moves that will be Edited In
* Mouse Control <How? any suggestions?>
* 256 colour graphics <as soon as i find a unit for it>
* Quicker response time, less fuzzy graphics output
* New Levels will be designed! <Some, perhaps, by you!>
HISTORY:
<1.03 Everything prior to 1.03 was a mess. The code was essentially done in
one day, with ascii graphics <my favourite> and little user-friendliness.
1.03 The Grand Release. Equilibrium went out with a bang and a pop and
was recieved well by most who got past the Level Data File portion.
1.04 1.04 was/is a maintenance release. I found out that not everyone
intuitively knew why the programme needs to know where its level data
files are. So i added a handy little thing that detects a goof like that
and gives a page of friendly instruction with an eye-grabbing white-on-
red error line. Same for printer malfunction <printer off>. Pretty
dandy, eh? Also added a line in the register.doc that i needed to,
the "Path to level data files default?" one.
1.1 1.1 is the Next Version. It should have great graphics, mouse support.
Maybe sound. More and better levels, better level titling. expect
a .CFG file to put your favourite directory in as well as other things.
In crafting stages right now, don't expect it till Winter.
TO CONTACT THE AUTHOR:
If you have any suggestions or comments, please send a note to

And try your best to include some cash!
I'll be away sometime pretty soon, i'm going to school elsewhere. However,
you're still safe just sending me mail here, it'll just take 1.5 times longer
<mail it here, folks mail it to me, i mail it to you>. I'll include my new
address as soon as i realise what it is.
DESIGN A LEVEL!:
If you have a registered copy and have created a new level which would
undoubtably be better than the ones I've made, print it out and send it in.
You'll get your name on a credits list even, if I like the level!
